The Goodfella‘s Story is the story of two hard-working families with ties to New York, carrying on the traditions of Old World Italy under the Florida sun. The Ciaccio and DiIorio families have a combined thirty years of experience in the restaurant industry, specializing in excellent Italian cuisine.
The Goodfella‘s Story begins with Sal Ciaccio in 1996, when he opened his first Italian restaurant and pizzeria, Mama Mia‘s in Deltona, FL. After successfully establishing Mama Mia‘s as one of the best Italian restaurants in Deltona, he sold it in the summer of 1999, determined to move into the up-and-coming East Orlando area.
Meanwhile, Marco DiIorio and family owned a bustling Italian deli and catering business in Queens, NY for over 15 years. After moving to Florida, he formed a partnership with Sal and together the Ciaccio and DiIorio families have owned and operated Goodfella‘s Pizzeria & Caterers for over ten years. To this day, Sal, Marco and their families work full-time in the restaurant and are still committed to providing the highest quality food and service to their loyal customers (We have the best and MOST LOYAL customers around! Thank you!).
Sal was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, NY. However, his family is originally from Sicily, Italy.
Marco is also from Queens, NY and is originally from Naples, Italy.
Sal and Marco both speak fluent Italian.
Not only do we have the most loyal customers around, we also have some of the most loyal employees (we think of them as family too). Our Chef Michael Rafferty has worked for us for over 9 years. All of our kitchen and pizza staff have worked for us for at least 5 years.
We are very appreciative of our success in our community and are proud to give something back. Goodfella‘s is an active contributor to the East Orlando area (we‘ve sponsored tons of sports teams and always contribute to local charity events), including the Avalon Park Softball League.
Our families look forward to serving your family! Buon Appetito!
